Create encaustic one-of-a-kind prints with pigmented beeswax and paper on a professional heated aluminum palette during this two-day class; this technique creates gentle surprises and aha moments, resulting in beautiful abstracted images, patterns and representational images.  Designed for those interested in a deeper experience of the medium; includes demos and hands-on experiences.

“RUBBISH? OR NOT?” and “ADHESIVES AND FRAMING OPTIONS” are fabulous followup classes.

Pre-Requisite: NONE

  • ALL supplies included. 

  • A 50% deposit of $190 holds your spot. If you prefer to pay in full, contact the studio owner and you will be sent a PayPal request for full payment.

  • The balance is due no later than 3 weeks prior on 10/5/2019

  • Minimum class size 3 students.

  • You will be notified 2 weeks prior if the class is not filled (a rare event).

  • Students go home with a roll full of prints, several matted print or greeting cards, several sheets Extravorganza (instructions will be provided for bringing several photographs to print) and the use of additional papers.

Bring a sack lunch - refrigerator and microwave available.

Afternoon snacks, coffee, hot tea, iced tea, lemon water will be provided.

Wear clothes that can get wax on them. If you wear long sleeves, make sure they can roll up. There are gel mats at each station, but please wear comfortable shoes. Aprons are available, but if you have a favorite that can get wax on it, feel free to bring it.

Time and weather permitting in the early afternoon, we will walk down to the beach (4 blocks and back), get some fresh marine air, and walk back. One patch can be muddy grass, so bring shoes that can handle a bit of messiness.
